Collins Executive Recruitment

The opportunity:
You will act as the financial backbone of the family office, overseeing reporting, compliance, asset administration, and cash management across multiple private structures.
Working closely with the principals, you will provide clear, accurate financial information to support informed decision-making and long-term planning.
This is a role for someone who values ownership over delegation, quality over speed, and long-term relationships over short-term wins.
You will be trusted with sensitive information and expected to operate with discretion, independence, and sound judgement.
What you will be responsible for:
Financial control and reporting
Own all accounting and financial reporting across family office entities
Prepare high-quality monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Maintain complete general ledger integrity, including reconciliations and journals
Manage year-end processes and liaise with external accountants and auditors
Oversee all statutory obligations including BAS, income tax, FBT, and compliance lodgments
Family office asset and portfolio administration
Maintain accurate records across listed investments, managed funds, private assets, and cash holdings
Reconcile transactions, corporate actions, cost bases, and portfolio movements
Prepare clear and concise net worth and portfolio reporting for the principals
Liaise directly with banks, brokers, custodians, and other counterparties
Tax oversight and planning support
Coordinate with external advisers on tax matters across trusts, companies, and related structures
Maintain robust tax working papers and supporting schedules
Support annual tax planning and monitor ongoing tax positions
Ensure all deadlines, payments, and obligations are met proactively
Treasury and cashflow management
Prepare and monitor cashflow forecasts and liquidity positions
Manage bank accounts, payments, and approval workflows
Oversee day-to-day treasury activity across family entities
Adviser and stakeholder engagement
Act as the primary finance contact for accountants, lawyers, and other advisers
Provide timely, accurate financial information to support decisions
Communicate clearly, professionally, and discreetly at all times
Structural simplification
Assist with reviewing, rationalising, and winding down legacy or redundant entities and accounts
About you:
You are an experienced finance professional who is comfortable operating independently in a private family office or complex multi-entity environment.
You take pride in accuracy, organisation, and being someone others rely on.
You likely bring:
Senior experience in financial control, accounting, or finance management roles
Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge
Hands-on experience with trusts, companies, and private asset structures
High levels of discretion, professionalism, and personal accountability
A calm, methodical approach and strong attention to detail
Why this role stands out:
A genuine family office role with direct principal access
Part-time structure, 3 or 4 days per week, with flexibility
Broad, end-to-end responsibility rather than narrow siloed tasks
Long-term role offering stability, influence, and skilled satisfaction
This role will suit someone who values trust, autonomy, and quality work over titles or headcount.
If you are seeking a senior part-time role where your judgement and experience truly matter, this is a rare opportunity.
