The Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (GRAMS) is seeking to fill the above position in its Clinic in Geraldton.
n
POSITION PURPOSE
n
The Sexual Health & ARF/RHD Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the delivery of culturally safe, evidence-based Sexual Health/BBV/STI and Acute Rheumatic Fever/Rheumatic Heart Disease (ARF/RHD) programs across GRAMS.
n
The position provides clinical coordination, treatment and follow-up; manages urgent recalls and registers; supports opportunistic and targeted screening; strengthens staff capability; and provides education and health promotion to staff, clients and the community.
n
The coordinator works collaboratively with GRAMS clinicians, the Home Visiting Team, WACHS Public Health Unit (PHU), WACHS Population Health/other relevant services and external stakeholders to ensure timely treatment, follow-up, contact tracing and continuity of care.
n
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
n
n
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or other suitably qualified registered health clinician.
n
Demonstrated clinical experience relevant to primary health care, Sexual Health/STI/BBV and/or ARF/RHD.
n
Ability to coordinate recalls, treatment, follow-up and multidisciplinary clinical care.
n
Demonstrated understanding of culturally secure health care and the health and social factors impacting Aboriginal people.
n
Current unrestricted Driver's License.
n
Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
n
National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain).
n
n
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
n
n
Previous experience in Sexual Health, BBV/STI and/or ARF/RHD programs.
n
Experience with POCT and/or TTANGO.
n
Knowledge of the Silver Book BBV/STI Guidelines.
n
Knowledge of ARF/RHD clinical guidelines and the WA RHD Register.
n
Experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service or Aboriginal primary health care setting.
n
Experience in health promotion, community education and outreach.
n
