About the role
The Operational Duty Officer monitors the day-to-day performance of Victoria's road and public transport networks, responding to planned and unplanned incidents, emergencies and disruptions.
The role identifies emerging issues, coordinates responses and communicates timely information to emergency services, transport operators and stakeholders to maintain safe and reliable services.
The role provides 24/7 operational oversight, including during major events, infrastructure works and service changes.
It uses operational and incident data to identify trends, improve performance and support better customer outcomes.
The position works rostered shifts in a rapid-paced environment and ensures responses meet DTP protocols, legislative requirements and regulatory obligations.

You're someone who:
Uses critical thinking, sound judgement and analysis to resolve complex issues and make informed decisions.
Builds strong stakeholder relationships, understands their needs and constructively addresses issues to achieve positive outcomes.
Plans and prioritises work in line with organisational strategy, translating objectives into practical actions.
Communicates effectively and adapts their approach to different audiences,
perspectives and stakeholder needs.
Understands the broader organisational environment, including the issues, pressures and context that influence decision-making and service delivery.
Qualifications and experience
You'll bring:
Experience working with public transport and road operations.
Technical knowledge and expertise in emergency and incident response, with a qualification in emergency or risk management desirable.
Willingness to undertake medical and other safety compliance requirements
