About The Role
Reporting to the Education Manager Training and Assessment, this role is responsible for the planning, delivery, assessment and continuous improvement of vocational and non-vocational education and/or fee‐for‐service programs across a variety of learning environments.
You will manage the student learning lifecycle from initial course enquiries through to the implementation of individualised teaching using flexible, inclusive and contemporary teaching strategies.
You will also contribute to the design and development of high‐quality educational resources and establish and maintain effective partnerships with industry and key stakeholders.
This role suits an experienced vocational education and training professional who is committed to learner‐centred teaching and supporting high‐quality program delivery.
What You'll Do
Plan, prepare, teach and assess learning activities that meet learner needs
Establish and maintain safe, inclusive learning environments using diverse teaching methods
Support student participation,



learning plans and reasonable adjustments to meet individual learner needs
Provide student support, including educational pastoral care, consultation and referral to appropriate support services
Develop and maintain high‐quality teaching, assessment materials, curriculum content and educational resources
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and assessment in line with Melbourne Polytechnic policies
Participate in validation and moderation and maintain compliance documentation in accordance with regulatory, organisational and audit requirements
Establish and maintain networks with industry, relevant VET bodies and other stakeholders
Participate in professional development to maintain educational and vocational currency
Actively contribute to team-based program delivery and the achievement of departmental objectives
What You'll Bring
Appropriate vocational competency and/or qualifications together with relevant, recent and current industry knowledge, skills and experience
Demonstrated understanding of learning principles and teaching methodologies, with a high standard of teaching practice and commitment to learner‐centred teaching
Well‐developed teaching skills, including the ability to use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to diverse student needs
Ability to plan, schedule and meet agreed deadlines and work productively both independently and within a team
High-level interpersonal skills and a professional approach, together with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to network, explore and develop partnerships to increase student engagement and opportunities during and post studies
Excellent ICT skills to produce work for learners, assist with e‐learning and report across a range of programs




Demonstrated commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Anti‐Discrimination, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
Desirable
Experience teaching or assessing in a VET environment
Experience working with diverse learner cohorts
Knowledge of current issues in vocational education and training, particularly as they relate to the areas taught within the Department
Qualifications & Mandatory Checks
Appointment to this position is subject to meeting the qualification requirements (where applicable) and the successful completion of all mandatory employment checks.
Teaching Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the qualification requirements under the Victorian TAFE Teaching Staff Agreement **** and relevant regulatory standards.
You Will Have
Relevant qualifications in your discipline area
Recent and relevant industry and/or teaching experience
In Addition, Depending On The Role
Vocational Education and Training (VET) roles:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE***** or equivalent), or a diploma or higher qualification in adult or vocational education
Non‐Vocational Education roles (e.g. EAL, AMEP, SEE, Foundation, VCE): A recognised teaching qualification appropriate to the program (e.g. postgraduate TESOL or equivalent), and demonstrated teaching capability through relevant experience
Applicants who can demonstrate equivalent teaching capability through a combination of qualifications and experience may also be considered.
Mandatory Checks
A valid Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee)
A National Police Check
