The Legal and Legislation Division (LLD) works with DEECA Groups to optimise success, minimise risk and deliver on government objectives.
About the job
Reporting to the Legal Operations Manager, the Legal Operations Business Analyst partners closely with stakeholders in LLD and broader teams across DEECA, where relevant, supporting high quality business analysis to drive outcomes for the Legal Operations portfolio of BAU and strategic initiatives.

Formal requirements include:
proven experience as a Business Analyst on technology-led projects within complex, multi-stakeholder environments (essential), preferably in government or inhouse legal services environment
mature facilitation and user-focused stakeholder engagement skills, with proven ability to gather, clarify, analyse, validate and document requirements across diverse business domains, using a range of techniques (e.g., workshops, interviews, process mapping)
strong understanding and application of Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) and practical experience working within cross-functional Agile teams experience with document management, case/matter management systems and other legal technology solutions desirable.
Business process mapping capabilities (e.g. BPMN) will be highly regarded.




Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
Proven experience as a Business Analyst on technology-led projects within complex, multi-stakeholder environments (essential), preferably in government or inhouse legal services environment.
A successful track record supporting procurement and implementation of complex system or platform transformations is highly desirable.
Mature facilitation and user-focused stakeholder engagement skills, with proven ability to gather, clarify, analyse, validate and document requirements across diverse business domains, using a range of techniques (e.g., workshops, interviews, process mapping).
Experience documenting user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules in digital collaboration tools.
Strong understanding and application of Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) and practical experience working within cross-functional Agile teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and convey complex concepts clearly in plain language to technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficient in process mapping (As-Is and To-Be) and using visualisation tools to support solution design and business improvement.
Analytical and detail-oriented, with a solution-focused approach to problem-solving and issue resolution, and demonstrated ability to synthesise complex information to develop practical,



user-centred solutions.
This is a fixed term position available for a period until 4 June ****.
The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
