Our client is seeking to add a skilled Cabinet Maker to its team to manufacture, assemble and install quality kitchen cabinetry, cupboards, wardrobes and custom joinery, while maintaining high standards of accuracy, workmanship and project-specific finishing.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: • Read and interpret technical drawings, cabinet layouts, specifications and job requirements.
• Measure, mark and prepare cabinetry materials for accurate cutting and assembly.
• Select timber, laminates, MDF, particleboard and other suitable engineered wood products.
• Operate and program CNC machinery for precision cutting, routing and shaping.
• Use CabMaster layouts and technical documentation to support accurate cabinet fabrication.
• Cut, shape and prepare cabinet components using machinery and traditional hand tools.
• Assemble cabinetry structures and joinery components to specified measurements and tolerances.
• Install kitchen cabinetry, cupboards, wardrobes and related custom joinery onsite.
• Measure and adjust cabinetry components to accommodate site conditions and tolerances.
• Fit hinges, runners, handles, locks, catches, drawers, shelves and associated hardware.
• Complete finishing, alignment and adjustment work to ensure functional finished cabinetry.
• Check completed cabinetry for accuracy, secure joints, alignment and quality workmanship.
• Follow project drawings and specifications throughout fabrication, assembly and installation stages.
• Maintain protected and efficient use of workshop machinery, tools, materials and equipment.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role: • AQF Certificate III in Cabinet Making or a closely related field, supported by at least two years of relevant workplace training; an AQF Certificate IV; or at least three years of relevant cabinet-making experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
• Demonstrated ability to read and accurately interpret cabinetry drawings, layouts, specifications and technical documentation.
• Practical experience operating CNC machinery and using cabinet-making machinery, power tools and traditional hand tools.
• Proven ability to measure, cut, shape and assemble cabinetry components to accurate specifications and tolerances.
• Experience installing residential cabinetry onsite, including accurate fitting, alignment, adjustments and completion of finishing work.
• Sound knowledge of cabinetry materials, hardware and fittings including hinges, runners, drawers, shelves, handles and catches.
• Ability to work safely, accurately and independently while maintaining consistent quality standards across cabinetry projects.
