The Opportunity
n
FHR is recruiting an experienced Switchboard Designer to join an established electrical engineering and manufacturing operation based in Henderson, WA
n
This is a hands‐on technical design role working across distribution switchboards, motor control switchboards, control panels and custom electrical assemblies.
n
Working closely with the Switchboard Design Lead, Electrical Engineers and Project Engineers, you'll take technical specifications and project requirements and turn them into accurate, practical and compliant switchboard designs.
n
We're looking for someone with strong AutoCAD skills, a solid understanding of electrical switchboard design and Australian Standards, and the ability to confidently read and interpret complex electrical drawings and schematics.

What You'll Be Doing
n
n
Design and draft distribution switchboards, motor control switchboards, control panels and other electrical assemblies
n
Produce accurate designs and drawings using AutoCAD
n
Read and interpret Single Line Diagrams, schematic diagrams, three-line diagrams, block diagrams and termination diagrams
n
Review technical specifications and incorporate project requirements into designs
n
Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS *****, AS/NZS **** and applicable wiring rules
n
Work closely with electrical engineers, designers and project engineers throughout project delivery
n
Review and check design and drafting work for accuracy, compliance and design intent
n
Liaise with clients to understand technical requirements and adapt designs where required
n
Prepare specifications, bills of quantities and materials lists
n
Assist with factory inspections and liaise with suppliers,



clients and engineers
n
Contribute to continuous improvement and the development of modular switchboard designs
n
Help improve design efficiency through automation, customised CAD tools and improved processes
n
n
What We're Looking For
n
To be successful, you'll need a strong electrical design background and practical understanding of switchboards.
n
Essential requirements include:
n
n
Advanced AutoCAD skills
n
Ability to confidently read and interpret SLDs, schematics, three-line diagrams, block diagrams and termination diagrams
n
Sound knowledge of AS/NZS ***** and AS/NZS ****
n
Degree or trade qualification in switchboard design, electrical engineering or a related electrical discipline
n
Practical understanding of electrical products, switchboard construction and design
n
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation
n
Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, project and production teams
n
n
You'll ideally have either:
n
n
1+ year of experience within electrical engineering, design engineering or project engineering; or
n
3+ years of experience in switchboard design, assembly or a closely related environment.
n
n
Experience with SolidWorks, custom-built assemblies, Okken or Moducell systems would be advantageous but isn't essential.
n
