Kitchen Hand / Cook – Montsalvat Café

We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Hand / Cook to join our team at Montsalvat Café.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident working in a commercial kitchen and enjoys being part of a busy, team-focused workplace.

Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and cooking food in accordance with our café menu and recipes
Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the commercial kitchen
Working alongside another Kitchen Hand and supporting the wider café team
Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene
Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and well-stocked
Working efficiently in a quick-paced workplace while remaining calm and organised
Following food safety and workplace health and safety procedures
Using initiative to identify and solve problems as they arise

About you:




Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen is essential
Experience in a Kitchen Hand / Cook role is highly desirable
Able to work efficiently under pressure without compromising quality
A positive can-do attitude and willingness to get involved
Reliable, punctual and well organised
Able to work independently while also being a robust team player
Good communication skills and a practical, problem-solving approach

Pay: $30.00 – $47.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 15.0 per week
