About the Team Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains.
With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
About the Opportunity Lead and supervise a multi-skilled delivery works group to maintain a safe and reliable railway network Port Botany to Yanderra.
Ensure mandatory systematic inspection, examination, condition monitoring and functional checks on the rail infrastructure are conducted and take appropriate action to ensure rail infrastructure is in a safe operational condition, including recording, reporting and prioritisation of defective infrastructure to maintain a valid defect recording system and work management system.
Responsibilities Lead and promote a positive,



safety-first work culture within the team.
Support and develop the education and skill set of your tea Conduct pre-work briefings and toolboxes to ensure safety, inspection, compliance and accreditation requirements are met Coordinate and supervise employees and contractors to safely and efficiently deliver maintenance works Plan daily work activities and effectively allocate personnel, plant, materials and equipment Monitor rail infrastructure condition, identify and report defects, and ensure infrastructure remains safe and operational Ensure maintenance activities are completed, recorded, signed off and costed accurately Identify and implement improvements to maintenance practices, infrastructure performance and availability Support the Area Manager with maintenance planning and participate in projects and other operational activities as required.
What do we want from you?
Essential: Solid knowledge and experience in a rail infrastructure discipline (Track, Structures or Signalling) Relevant infrastructure inspection, assessment and repair certification.
Experience in asset condition assessment, forecasting and reporting.
Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and resolve operational issues.
Understanding of WHS and rail safety legislation.
Class C Driver's Licence and ability to meet Category 1 Rail Safety Worker medical requirements.
Strong computer, communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
