As a result of organic growth and expansion, they are actively seeking an experienced Production Team Leader to join their growing team on a permanent full-time basis.
The Position...
Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, you will be directly involved in the direct supervision and coordination of a manufacturing area/department, overseeing production staff to ensure that all orders are produced in accordance with the production schedule.
Key responsibilities include: Implement and maintain processes/procedures to achieve departmental plans and goals.
Ensure quality and customer standards/expectations are maintained.
Manage and motivate a team of up to 8 staff, maximising their daily productivity; this includes coaching and assisting staff to help them perform their required tasks safely and efficiently.
With a strong focus on maintaining safety and high quality of work, foster a culture of continuous improvement and ongoing implementation of safety initiatives.
Set up work areas and job runs to ensure maximum efficiency and to minimise down time.
Guide team-based problem solving and driving impactful operational enhancements.
Monitoring, developing and implementing best practice operating procedures.
This role requires a hands-on leader who is an excellent communicator that thrives on building and empowering high-performing production teams, contributing to long-term business growth and innovation.
The Ideal Candidate...
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the timber manufacturing industry or similar, along with a decisive mindset and excellent team organisation skills.
Further requirements include: Previous experience as a team leader /supervisor in the timber manufacturing industry will be a distinct advantage.
Current forklift licence (essential).
Knowledge of operating timber milling machinery and nail guns will be advantageous.
Have a proactive, hands-on approach, and providing support to team members as required in order to maintain effective operations.
Highly process-orientated, with attention to detail and the ability to develop and implement standard operation procedures.
Have the ability to plan, organise work of others, determine priorities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build robust relationships.
You will need to be a friendly and approachable person who is able to motivate and retain staff.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Flexibility to work across various shifts.
Eligibility to work in Australia with full working rights.
