Position: Pipe Welder (Fabrication)

Location: Henderson, WA

Duration: 6 months

Pay Rate: $*****(NT), $******(T1/2), $******(DT)

Chandler Macleod is seeking a suitably qualified Pipe Welder for a6-month contract with a Defence client in Western Australia. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in the defence / marine shipbuilding industry.

Duties
n
n
Perform fabrication, welding and general maintenance duties
n
Perform high-quality GTAW welding
n
Perfom quality checks
n
Work different pipe materials such as Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Copper Nickel
n
Interpret technical drawings and specifications
n
Work in confined spaces
n
Collaborate with Supervisors and Inspectors
n
n
Requirements
n
n
Must hold Australian Citizenship
n
White Card
n
Confined Space
n
National Police Clearance (less than 3 months)
n
Trade Qualification – Cert III Fabrication / Welding
n




Experience with different pipe materials such as Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Copper Nickel
n
Experience working with welding procedures and inspection welds
n
Experience performing high-quality GTAW welding
n
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure welds meet requirementsAbilityt to pass a 2G & 5G weld test
n
Previous shipbuilding experience highly desirable
n
Comfortable working in confined spaces
n
Ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Clearance
n
