Job Description

Working closely with HQ product, R&D;, and modelling team to gain a solid understanding on hardware, software, RMS and EMT models of Huawei products.
n
Support sales team on bidding preparation by preparing model packages and on Generator Performance Standards (GPS), R1, R2 document review.
n
Support clients on modelling enquiries, troubleshoot model issues and close clients' issue trackers in a timely manner.
n
Participate in reviewing and negotiating on connection agreements.
n
Participate in meetings of clients with regulator and market operator (AEMO) and network service providers, and provide support for clients where needed.
n
Stay current with evolving NER / AEMO / NSP requirements, grid technology trends (especially inverter based, grid forming, new protection/control strategies)
n
Contribute to mentoring, technical leadership, expert knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of engineering processes

Qualifications and Requirements:
n
n




Solid understanding of technical requirements (NER Schedule S5.2 and S5.3), proven experience across the full grid connection lifecycle (R0/R1/R2, commissioning, GPS compliance)
n
Demonstrated experience working with AEMO and NSPs, in negotiating GPS and demonstrating compliance
n
Proven ability to identify and resolve grid connection issues.
n
Solid knowledge of power systems, power electronics, and control principles.
n
Deep expertise in PSCAD, PSSE and/or PowerFactory, and ability to interpret model outputs, compare to actual system behaviour and resolve issues
n
Strong understanding of inverter-based resources and grid-forming technologies in various grid conditions
n
Prior experience working/liaising with AEMO, NSP is preferrable.
n
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
n
Willingness to travel within Australia or overseas occasionally.
