An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join an established private investment company with a diversified portfolio spanning property, private credit, equities, private equity and operating businesses.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Manager will play a key leadership role within the finance function, acting as 2IC across the day-to-day finance operations.
n
This is a hands-on leadership position suited to a technically strong finance professional who enjoys broad responsibility and wants genuine ownership across financial reporting, consolidation, tax, audit, fund finance, business parting and team leadership.

The Opportunity
n
The Finance Manager will oversee the delivery of the Group's finance function across a complex multi-entity structure, ensuring high-quality and timely financial information is provided to senior management and the Board.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
Leading the day-to-day finance function and managing a team of four finance professionals.
n
Owning the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting cycles.
n
Managing Group consolidation across multiple entities, including intercompany eliminations.
n
Preparing and reviewing consolidated management accounts, P&L; and balance sheet reporting.
n
Maintaining strong balance sheet integrity and financial controls across the Group.
n
Reviewing technical accounting matters and providing recommendations to senior management.
n
Managing the annual audit process and relationships with external auditors.
n
Overseeing the Group's tax compliance, including income tax, BAS and GST requirements.
n




Providing oversight of fund accounting, administration and investor distributions.
n
Reviewing SPV distributions and ensuring appropriate processes and controls are maintained.
n
Managing reporting and compliance across trusts, investment entities and other Group structures.
n
Leading, developing and mentoring the finance team, including offshore team members.
n
Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, systems and reporting across the finance function.

About You
n
We are seeking a CA/CPA-qualified finance professional with strong technical accounting skills and experience operating in a complex, multi-entity environment.
n
You will ideally bring:
n
n
7+ years' experience across accounting and finance, ideally including a period within a private investment group, family office, funds management, property, private equity or similarly diversified environment.
n
Solid experience across financial reporting, consolidations and month-end processes.
n
Experience managing external audit and tax advisers.
n
Exposure to investment structures, trusts, SPVs, funds or distribution processes will be highly regarded.
n
Demonstrated experience leading and developing a finance team.
n
Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of financial controls.
n
The ability to operate comfortably at both a strategic and hands-on level.
n
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work closely with senior management and external advisers.
n
A proactive, commercially minded approach and the ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution.
