About the Role
n
We are seeking an experienced WWTP & Water Reuse Project Engineer to lead and support wastewater treatment, water reuse, and environmental improvement initiative.
n
This is a hands‐on project engineering role suited to someone who combines strong technical wastewater knowledge with proven project delivery, site execution, commissioning, and contractor management capability. You will play a key role in optimizing the existing wastewater treatment plant, delivering water reuse projects, supporting WWTP upgrades and expansions, and developing a long‐term sustainability and water reduction roadmap.

Key Responsibilities
n
Wastewater Treatment Optimization
n
n
Optimize WWTP performance, reliability, capacity, and treatment efficiency.
n
Identify operational and engineering improvements to reduce treatment costs and environmental impact.
n
Monitor plant performance and work with site teams to resolve process and equipment issues.
n
Develop and implement practical solutions to improve wastewater treatment performance.
n
Ensure effective management of treated effluent and wastewater streams.
n
Support compliance with relevant environmental legislation, permits, site requirements, and discharge standards.
n
Work with environmental and operational teams to investigate deviations and implement corrective actions.
n
Support data analysis, performance monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
n
Water Reuse & Irrigation Projects
n
n
Lead the development and implementation of water reuse initiatives.
n
Assess opportunities to reduce freshwater consumption through wastewater recovery and reuse.
n
Support the design, installation, commissioning, and optimization of irrigation and reclaimed‐water systems.
n
Evaluate water balances and identify opportunities for improved water efficiency across the manufacturing site.
n
Manage engineering projects associated with WWTP upgrades,
capacity increases, and expansion initiatives.
n
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, technical specifications, and execution plans.
n
Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and handover activities.
n
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required technical standards.
n
n
Sustainability & Water Reduction Roadmap
n
n
Support the development of a site-level sustainability and water reduction strategy.
n
Identify and prioritize opportunities to reduce freshwater use, wastewater generation, and overall water footprint.
n
Establish measurable improvement targets and track project outcomes.
n
Contribute to longer-term water resilience and circular‐water initiatives.
n
n
Project Delivery & Site Execution
n
The successful candidate will be expected to be highly visible and hands‐on at the manufacturing site, including:
n
n
Managing projects from concept and feasibility through to commissioning and operational handover.
n
Coordinating contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
n
Managing site works within a live manufacturing environment.
n
Ensuring appropriate safety, quality, environmental, and change‐control processes are followed.
n
Troubleshooting technical issues during installation, commissioning, and operation.
n
Providing clear project reporting, risk management, and progress updates to stakeholders.
n
n
About You
n
You will be a practical and delivery‐focused engineer who is comfortable moving between technical wastewater challenges, project management,
contractor coordination, and hands‐on site execution.
n
n
Engineering qualification in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
n
Proven experience delivering industrial wastewater treatment or water‐related engineering projects.
n
Strong site execution and commissioning experience.
n
Demonstrated ability to manage projects from design through construction and commissioning.
n
Experience working hands‐on in a live manufacturing or industrial environment.
n
Robust contractor, supplier, and stakeholder management skills.
n
Ability to troubleshoot technical and operational issues and translate them into practical solutions.
n
Strong understanding of environmental compliance and wastewater treatment principles.
n
Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
n
n
Preferred
n
n
Experience in food, dairy, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing.
n
Experience with industrial WWTP optimization, upgrades, or expansion projects.
n
Experience with water reuse, reclaimed water, irrigation, or water efficiency projects.
n
Knowledge of sustainability, water reduction, and circular‐water strategies.
n
Experience working with environmental regulators, consultants, and specialist wastewater contractors.
n
