Use your planning policy expertise to shape land use policy and contribute to the long-term vision of the City of West Torrens.
Permanent full-time position Salary: Level 6 Officer - $115,829 to $123,732 (FTE) per annum, plus superannuation Monthly rostered day off Based at Hilton, South Australia On-site car parking What you'll do As Senior Policy Planner, you will lead and support land use policy, planning projects and regional partnerships that help deliver the City of West Torrens Community Plan, strategic management plans and departmental service plan.
You will analyse planning, development and demographic trends to identify emerging issues and opportunities for the sustainable growth of West Torrens.
You will shape policy responses that guide future development, protect strategically important employment lands, heritage and valued character, and respond to the city's changing needs.
Your key responsibilities will include: researching land use and planning policy matters to provide specialist advice and direction advocating for the City of West Torrens on planning reform, land use and heritage matters coordinating and contributing to Planning and Design Code Amendments monitoring emerging land use, urban development and planning issues and identifying planning policy opportunities and priorities for West Torrens developing timely and effective projects with internal partners and the public and private sectors building productive relationships and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders preparing clear, accurate and high-quality reports, documents and advice.
Who you are If you're well-organised, self-motivated,



enjoy solving problems and have the ability to see the big picture you could be a great addition to our Strategy and Sustainability team.
You'll need to demonstrate a high degree of initiative, energy and enthusiasm, have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and know how to work under pressure while dealing with competing demands.
Accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality are also necessary.
What you'll need You must hold: tertiary qualifications in urban and regional planning or another relevant discipline that enables corporate membership of the Planning Institute of Australia a current Class C driver's licence a National Police Clearance issued within the past 6 months (or willingness to obtain throughout the recruitment process).
Additional qualifications in project management, community engagement, economic development, business administration, government policy or a similar field would be advantageous.
