Interstone Australia Pty Ltd Location: LEICHHARDT NSW **** Job Type: Full-time Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum + superannuation About the Role Interstone Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and skilled Wall and Floor Tiler to join our team on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality wall and floor tiling work across residential and/or commercial projects, including the installation of ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, marble, glass and other tile products.
This role requires a strong understanding of tile installation techniques, surface preparation, accurate setting out, cutting, adhesive application, grouting and finishing.
The successful applicant will be expected to work safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard while meeting project specifications and deadlines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications, and measure and set out areas to determine tile layouts, quantities, levels and alignment.
Prepare walls, floors and other surfaces for tiling by cleaning, levelling, filling cracks and imperfections, and removing existing tiles or adhesives where required.
Select, prepare and apply appropriate adhesives, grouts, sealants and other materials in accordance with project requirements and manufacturer specifications.
Install ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, marble,



glass and other tiles to internal and external walls, floors and other surfaces.
Accurately cut and shape tiles using appropriate hand and powered tools to fit around corners, edges, fixtures, fittings, pipes and other obstructions.
Position, align and level tiles to achieve accurate spacing, patterns, falls and a high-quality finish in accordance with plans and specifications.
Apply grout, sealants, trims and other finishing materials, and clean completed surfaces to achieve a professional and durable finish.
Undertake wet-area preparation and waterproofing where required, and ensure tiling work complies with relevant project specifications, Australian Standards and workplace requirements.
Inspect completed tiling and stonework, identify defects or installation issues, and carry out repairs, replacements and rectification work as required.
Safely use and maintain tools, equipment and materials, minimise wastage, maintain a clean work area, and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements while coordinating with supervisors and other trades.
Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:



Relevant qualification such as Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent trade qualification.
At least 2-3 years' experience working as a Wall and Floor Tiler in residential, commercial or similar construction environments.
Strong practical knowledge of tile and natural stone installation techniques.
Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications.
Competent use of tile-cutting equipment, grinders and other tiling tools.
Sound knowledge of surface preparation, adhesive selection, grouting and finishing techniques.
Experience working with different tile formats and materials, including large-format tiles and natural stone, will be highly regarded.
Knowledge of wet-area preparation and waterproofing requirements.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
Good time management and ability to meet project deadlines.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
