This is a unique opportunity to work within a small, alternative secondary school co-located with youth services in Pakenham- supporting young people who may not thrive in mainstream education.
n
You'll be part of both the school community and the wider headspace team, working largely autonomously while staying connected to a supportive, multidisciplinary setting.
n
While this is a clinical role, your impact goes beyond the therapy room. You'll take a proactive, trauma-informed approach to build trust, encourage help-seeking, and support young people attending Oakwood School.

Your role, your impact:

Build trusted relationshipswith young people to support their wellbeing and engagement in school
n
Provide evidence-based clinical supportthrough short to medium-term interventions
n
Encourage early help-seekingthrough proactive engagement and visible presence within the school
n
Collaborate with educators and care teamsto create safe, supportive learning environments
n
Support young people and familiesthrough care planning, referrals and coordinated support pathways
n
Contribute to a trauma-informed culturethat prioritises safety, inclusion and connection
n

About you
n
You're a confident and compassionate clinician with experience supporting young people with a range of mental health and psychosocial needs. You bring strong therapeutic skills and a thoughtful, trauma-informed approach to your work, with the ability to assess risk,



develop meaningful care plans and deliver evidence-based interventions.
n
You have:
n
n
A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling, and registration or eligibility for membership with AHPRA, AASW, ACA, or PACFA
n
Strong engagement and relationship-building skills, particularly with young people early in help-seeking
n
Advanced understanding of mental health, trauma, and issues affecting youth and their families
n
Experience supporting young people disengaged from social activities, education and employment
n
Confidence applying CBT, DBT, ACT or similar approaches
n
Experience in case management/care coordination
n
