About this opportunity
n
This is more than an operational leadership role. It is an opportunity to build the operational capability that underpins outstanding customer service across an entire regional library network.
n
Reporting to the Regional Librarian, you'll lead the newly established Library Operations business stream, providing leadership across collections, digital services, outreach, procurement, systems, and continuous improvement. Working in partnership with Branch Librarians, you'll ensure the operational services and resources that support frontline customer delivery continue to evolve while contributing to strategic planning and organisational improvement.

This role offers an unusually broad leadership chance—combining people leadership, operational management, project delivery, procurement, collection development, digital innovation and organisational improvement within one diverse portfolio.

About you...
n
You're an experienced library professional who enjoys bringing people together, solving problems and improving services. You understand that exceptional customer experiences begin with strong operational foundations and you're equally comfortable leading people, influencing outcomes and translating strategic direction into practical action. Most importantly, you're someone who is excited by the opportunity to build, improve and influence.

You'll also bring:
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Services (or equivalent) together with demonstrated leadership experience in a public library environment.
n
Experience leading teams, developing capability, and creating a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
n
Strong operational management skills, including procurement, budgeting, project delivery, and business improvement.
n
Demonstrated knowledge of collection development, digital services,



and contemporary public library operations.
n
Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to influence, collaborate and build trusted partnerships.
n
A current Queensland Driver's Licence.
n
Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) prior to commencing employment.
