A multidisciplinary referral hospital in Perth is seeking a small animal internal medicine specialist.

This role offers the opportunity to help build a new internal medicine service from the ground up, working alongside a team of specialists and veterinarians who value collaboration, shared knowledge and high standards of patient care.

As one of the founding internal medicine specialists, you will have the opportunity to shape clinical protocols, workflows, equipment priorities and the future direction of the service. You will work closely with specialists across emergency and critical care, surgery, diagnostic imaging, dermatology, dentistry and anaesthesia, managing complex referral cases as part of a collaborative team.

The hospital is independently-owned and places a strong focus on providing specialists with the support, resources and systems needed to practise excellent medicine. You will be supported by experienced nursing teams, dedicated emergency and critical care clinicians providing 24-hour inpatient care, and a leadership team focused on continually improving patient care.

Philips Incisive 128-slice CT, adaptable and rigid endoscopy, fluoroscopy, dedicated ultrasound suites, portable POCUS units, digital radiography suites, an in-house IDEXX laboratory, ROTEM Sigma and dedicated feline radioactive iodine treatment facilities.

The ideal applicant will be a board-certified specialist, or residency-trained and eligible for specialist registration. This role would suit someone who enjoys collaboration, mentoring, sharing knowledge and being part of a team where colleagues support each other and work together to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

The employer is willing to assist with a work visa (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
