Leading company in its field Based in Brisbane ( 5 Days Onsite) 12 Months initial assignment with potential to extend Green Light Australia are partnering with a leading company to engage Cyber Security SOC Analyst for delivering cyber defence services across incident response, threat detection and response, phishing analysis, security monitoring, and operational support activities.
Working within a co-sourced SOC environment, you will collaborate closely with customer stakeholders and internal security teams to maintain service levels, support cyber security operations, and contribute to the successful delivery of contractual outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional who enjoys hands-on technical investigations while contributing to continuous improvement and operational maturity initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: Security Operations Incident Response Monitor, triage, investigate, and respond to cyber security alerts, events, and incidents.
Perform phishing analysis, remediation, containment, and stakeholder communications.
Support incident response activities throughout the entire incident lifecycle, including detection, analysis, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned.
Conduct threat analysis and threat hunting activities to proactively identify and mitigate cyber risks.
Investigate suspicious activity and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
Threat Detection Security Monitoring Utilize SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms to detect and respond to potential threats.
Develop, tune, and enhance detection use cases and monitoring capabilities.
Analyse threat intelligence and emerging threat trends to improve organisational cyber defence capabilities.
Support security monitoring activities across customer environments to maintain visibility and risk awareness.
Continuous Improvement Service Delivery Contribute to initiatives focused on automation, operational efficiency, process optimisation, and service maturity.
Develop and maintain operational documentation, playbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge articles.
Produce investigation reports, incident summaries, technical findings, and recommendations.
Support service governance requirements and adherence to agreed service-level commitments.
Participate in knowledge-sharing, mentoring, and cross-training activities within the SOC team.
Required Skills Experience Demonstrated experience working within a Security Operations Centre (SOC), Cyber Defence, Incident Response, or Managed Security Services environment.
Proven experience investigating and responding to cyber security incidents, alerts, phishing campaigns, and malicious activity.
Strong understanding of incident response methodologies and cyber defence operations.
Hands-on experience with: SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel) SOAR technologies Endpoint Detection Response (EDR) solutions Threat Intelligence platforms Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess, prioritise, and respond to security events.
Experience preparing incident reports, technical documentation, and stakeholder communications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working within service-based environments with defined SLAs and governance processes.
Familiarity with cyber security frameworks and industry best practices, including: NIST Incident Response Framework ITIL Service Management principles Preferred Certifications CompTIA Security+ CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) Microsoft SC-200: Security Operations Analyst Microsoft SC-300: Identity and Access Administrator Splunk Core Certified Power User Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Administrator Splunk SOAR (Phantom) Certified Administrator or Automation Developer ITIL Foundation Certification About the company: We are an Australian onshore services company that provides technology capability across ANZ and Asia.
