The Andersen Partnership have been instructed by a well-establishedspecialist Planning & Environment law firmin Sydney is seeking a lawyer with1+ years' post-qualification experienceto join its team on a permanent basis.
This firm is known for its strong reputation in planning and environmental law and works predominantly withlocal and state government clients, alongside a carefully selected private developer practice.
Workflow is consistent year-round, supported by existing government panel appointments and upcoming panel outcomes.
The Role
You will work across a mix of advisory and contentious planning and environment matters, with early responsibility and solid client exposure.
Lawyers at junior levels work closely with partners, benefiting from hands-on mentoring and direct involvement in matters rather than being siloed behind layers of hierarchy.
The firm operates a structured but supportive development model, where junior lawyers rotate between partners over time, allowing for broad exposure across the practice and clear progression based on merit.
About You
This role will suit a lawyer with:




1+ PQEin planning & environment law (or a closely aligned public/public sector practice)
Public sector experienceat local or state government level (desirable)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A collaborative approach and genuine interest in specialist planning work
Lawyers frominterstate or New Zealandwill also be considered, provided they have relevant public sector experience.
