Qualification
n
Trade qualified (cert III in engineering Machining/Fitting or equivalent international qualification) with workshop-based experience.

Shift Supervisor / Leading Hand, Workshop Supervisor, Workshop Manager
n
Job Purpose
n
Must comply with all legislation and safety guidelines. Set up operation of workstation and tasks outlined by supervisor.
n
Authority
n
This position has authority to report quality and OH&S; problems and recommend corrective and preventive action.
n
Objectives
n
To manufacture a quality product to customers scope of work and required standards following all occupational health and safety guidelines while adhering to all company policies.
n
Responsibilities
n
Duties & Responsibilities include
n
n
Demonstrate sound mechanical aptitude and able to read, interpret and manufacture from technical workshop drawings in accordance to scope of work
n
Set up and execute product manufacturing sequence operations in accordance with the assigned job traveller documentation and or as identified during manufacturing
n
Be able to check fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
n
Be able to machine to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal
n
Be able to work independently and or within a team with or without supervision
n
To manufacture, strip and repair product in a proper and safe manner using the most economical methods
n
Inspect and record manufacturing details as and when product manufacture documentations require including for all variations
n




Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility with job tasks liaising with all relevant stakeholders
n
Identify and document all non-conformances and report to their supervisor immediately
n
Keep and maintain workstations and surrounds in a safe and tidy manner
n
Conduct secure and proper machine operation as per SOP training
n
Notify supervisor of any shortage of tools, and or maintenance requirements
n
Seek approval of Workshop Management for any changes to Workshop practices, drawings etc. Ensure that no practice or procedure is changed without this authority
n
Conduct Pre-operational inspections of machinery and equipment
n
Participate in Risk Assessment
n
Participate in personal training including helping with apprentices and fellow personnel
n
Daily timesheet completion at the end of every shift with accurate job and operation details.
n

Be present to start and finish work on the job at the designated starting times
n
Be present for their entire required shift and do whatever is required, to help achieve business targets.
