We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer for an initial 6-month contract with a high likelihood of extension in Adelaide. In this role, you will play a key part in the Infrastructure team, providing technical leadership to drive cloud native modernisations while supporting robust on-premise hybrid environments. You will balance strategic input on technology roadmaps with hands‐on delivery, engineering and high-level incident management.

Core Responsibilities
n

Technical Leadership & Modernisation: Provide technical leadership within the Infrastructure Services team, driving modernisations toward cloud-native solutions.
n
Architecture & Strategy: Contribute directly to ICT technology roadmaps, capacity planning and long-term strategic alignment for cloud infrastructure.
n
Cloud Engineering & Delivery: Design, deploy, configure and optimize enterprise cloud services, primarily across Microsoft Azure platforms.
n
Operational Excellence & Escalations: Act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents, major outages, system restorations and root-cause analysis.
n
Continuous Improvement:



Identify opportunities to automate workflows, optimize cloud consumption and enhance setting security and resilience.

Required Skills
n
n
Microsoft Azure Ecosystem: Deep, hands-on experience in Azure hosting, administration, landing zones, virtual networking, identity and access management.
n
System Administration: Proven track record in managing enterprise cloud environments at scale.
n
Identity & Access: Background with Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID and hybrid identity setups.
n
Server & Virtualisation: Comprehensive knowledge of Windows Server OS, virtualisation platforms (VMware/Hyper-V) and enterprise storage solutions.
n

Desirable Skills
n
n
Certifications: Microsoft Azure related cloud/security certifications.
n
DevSecOps: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code and embedding security into delivery workflows.
n
Linux Management: Experience with Linux OS virtual machine administration in cloud environments.
n
Data Services: Understanding of cloud relational databases (Azure SQL, Managed Instances).
n
n
