Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced High Voltage Technician to join Powertech supporting our Darwin office on a Full-Time Permanent Basis.

Description
n
This role is a mix of local, office and field-based work and involves national travel on a project-to-project basis. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate strong theoretical and practical knowledge.
n
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to
n
n
Commissioning and testing HV protections systems.
n
Commissioning and testing HV Plant.
n
Commissioning and Testing Power Generation Systems.
n




Protection Relay Testing.
n
HV Primary and secondary system testing in a substation environment.
n
Assist in preparation of commissioning/testing documentation, test plans and create detailed technical reports on completion of works.
n
Carry out JSHAs etc. prior to commencing any new works to identify hazards and implement the necessary controls.
n
Knowledge of HV/LV Transformer Testing (i.e. Tan Delta/Turns Ratio/SFRA/Dirana/Voltage Ratio/Winding Resistance, Oil Sampling)
n

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
n
n
Unrestricted NT Electrical Fitter and Mechanic Workers License.
n
Minimum 4years' experience.
n
Valid Driver's License.
n
HV Switching Ticket preferred.
n
Knowledge of appropriate Australian Standards.
n
Proven ability meeting project quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
n
Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
n
