The Role
n
Reporting to the CFO, this is a broad and influential Finance Director position with responsibility for leading the finance function, a team of approximately 20.
n
This is far more than a traditional controllership role. You will combine financial stewardship, commercial leadership and strategic partnering while working closely with executive leaders, the board, financial institutions and other key stakeholders.
n
The role offers significant exposure to transformation initiatives, capital management, treasury activities, major funding programs and long-term strategic planning. There is also a genuine opportunity to broaden your remit over time and contribute to the future direction of the organisation as well as career progression to the position of CFO.

Role Responsibilities
n
n
Lead the organisation's finance function, providing strategic financial leadership and governance.
n
Oversee financial reporting, audit, tax, compliance and control frameworks.
n
Lead budgeting, forecasting,
financial planning and performance management activities.
n
Manage treasury, debt funding and capital management programs.
n
Partner with executive leadership and the board to support critical business decisions.
n
Drive finance transformation, systems improvement, automation and process optimisation initiatives.
n
Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team.
n
Support growth initiatives including property acquisition, development and long-term funding strategies.
n
n
Your Profile
n
We are interested in experienced finance leaders who combine strong technical capability with commercial judgement and executive presence.
n
You will bring:
n
n
CA qualification (preferred) or equivalent professional credentials.
n
Early career foundational training grounded in financial control/audit from a Big 4 / Top 20 Accounting firm.
n
Prior experience as a Finance Director, Financial Controller, Divisional CFO, Head of Finance, Group Financial Controller or similar leadership role.
n
Proven leadership of finance teams of 10+.
n
Broad commercial finance, FP&A;, financial control, reporting, governance and audit expertise.
n
Experience within property, infrastructure, financial services, education, healthcare, aged care or other asset-intensive environments will be highly regarded, although exceptional candidates from other sectors are encouraged to apply.
n
Prior experience in asset / mezzanine finance and debt refinancing is advantageous.
n
Experience presenting to boards and engaging with executive stakeholders.
n
The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership and execution.
n
A collaborative leadership style and a passion for developing high-performing teams.
