The Indian Ocean Territories Administration (IOTA) is currently seeking a motivated, experienced, and suitably qualified Social Worker to join our team as a Community Social Worker within the Indian Ocean Territories Health Service (IOTHS) based on Christmas Island.
n
This is a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality, person-centred social work services within a multidisciplinary health team while supporting the wellbeing of the communities of Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.

About the Role
n
The key responsibilities of the Community Social Worker position include:
n
n
Delivering a range of evidenced-based clinical practise including individual and group interventions, counselling, case management, assessments and care plans.
n
Working with a sound understanding of the World Health Organization's Social Model of Health and the Social Determinants of Health to support a holistic, person-centred approach to care.
n
Liaising and negotiating with team members and community-based service agencies in regards to the provision of appropriate services.
n
Participating in staff and community education and health promotion.
n
Participating in the multidisciplinary team to contribute to the assessment, treatment and discharge planning for clients within the Indian Ocean Territories.
n
n
The role also includes providing skilled support and mentoring to the Community Services Officer based on the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
Semi-regular travel to the Cocos (Keeling) Islands is required to deliver outreach services and counselling, strengthen local service delivery, and foster collaborative relationships with community stakeholders.

About You
n
To be considered, applicants must possess:
n
n
Relevant qualification in Social Work and eligibility for, or current, full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
n
Valid Western Australian Working with Children Check
n
Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance
n
n
The successful applicant will also be required to complete a pre-employment medical assessment and successfully complete a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.

Base salary between $118,009 to $132,095, plus

Employer contribution to superannuation at 16% of base salary, plus

Annual return airfares assistant to Perth for yourself and eligible dependents, plus

Relocation assistance including packing, door-to-door delivery and storage will be provided if relocating to the Indian Ocean Territories, plus
