Level 5 $98,857 to $104,464 plus super

About this position
n
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our Compliance team.
n
This role is pivotal in promoting and delivering a progressive and effective compliance service that meets the needs of the City and the expectations of our community.
n
In this role, you will
n
n
Investigate alleged regulatory breaches under the Planning and Development Act ****, Building Act ****, and other relevant legislation and local laws
n
Conduct private swimming pool and spa inspections to ensure compliance with prescribed standards
n
Provide accurate, timely,
and customer-focused advice on compliance matters, upholding confidentiality and integrity in all interactions
n
Gather evidence and resolve issues through mediation, negotiation or legal processes
n
n
The salary range will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
n
What we are looking for
n
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:
n
n
Ability to interpret and apply various legislation and compile reports with recommendations (Level 5) or highly developed ability to analyse, interpret and apply legislation to complex issues (Level 6)
n
Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and the community
n
Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques and ability to employ them
n
Competence in using IT systems and applications relevant to the role
n
n
Experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.
n
n
Current driver's licence.
n
Current National Police Clearance (no older than three months). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
n
Certificate IV in Government Investigations and/or relevant planning or building qualifications
n
Previous experience in compliance or investigative roles (Level 5) or significant experience in a compliance officer or higher-level position (Level 6)
n
