Georgiana Molloy Anglican School (GMAS) is seeking experienced, passionate and relational educators to join our Secondary School leadership team as Head of House, commencing in ****.
n
This is an exciting opportunity for educators who are passionate about student wellbeing, pastoral care and creating a strong sense of belonging and connection within a School community.
n
As the position includes a 0.70 FTE teaching load, we are particularly interested in hearing from experienced Secondary Teachers with teaching expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Economics / HASS
n
Performing Arts
n
Mathematics
n
Psychology / Science
n
About the Role
n
The Head of House provides pastoral leadership and oversight for students within their House, fostering a strong sense of belonging, connection and community while supporting student wellbeing, engagement and personal development.
n
Working collaboratively with students, families, House Group Teachers and School leaders, the Head of House promotes high expectations for behaviour, attendance and participation; leads and supports House Group Teachers; responds to student wellbeing and pastoral needs; and develops a positive and inclusive House culture that encourages student leadership, service, teamwork and active participation in School life.

As a practising teacher and pastoral leader, the successful applicant will maintain an active teaching role within their area of expertise and model high-quality professional practice,



positive relationships and sound professional judgement.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
provide strong pastoral leadership and oversight for students within their House;
n
monitor and support student wellbeing, attendance, engagement, behaviour and personal development;
n
lead and model restorative and relational approaches to student behaviour, conflict resolution and relationship repair;
n
lead, support and mentor House Group Teachers;
n
foster a positive, inclusive and engaging House culture;
n
build strong and respectful relationships with students, families, staff and School leaders;
n
promote opportunities for student leadership, student voice, service and teamwork;
n
plan and support House activities, events and Inter-House initiatives;
n
support the induction and integration of new students into the House;
n
maintain accurate and confidential pastoral and wellbeing records; and
n
contribute actively to the wider life and community of the School.

About You
n
We are looking for educators who genuinely enjoy working with young people and understand the important role strong relationships, connection and belonging play in student wellbeing and success.
n




To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:
n
n
appropriate tertiary teaching qualifications and current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia;
n
successful Secondary teaching experience, with teaching expertise in Economics/HASS, Performing Arts, Mathematics, Psychology/Science or English;
n
demonstrated experience and capacity to provide effective pastoral leadership and support student wellbeing, engagement, attendance and behaviour;
n
the ability to build positive, respectful and trusting relationships with adolescents;
n
the ability to lead, support and develop staff and contribute to a positive and accountable team culture;
n
knowledge and application of restorative and relational practices;
n
highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the capacity to conduct sensitive and challenging conversations professionally and constructively;
n
strong organisational skills and the ability to balance pastoral, leadership, teaching and administrative responsibilities;
n
a commitment to fostering House identity, belonging, student leadership and active participation in School life; and
n
a strong commitment to child safety, student wellbeing, skilled boundaries and the values and ethos of Anglican education.

Previous experience in a pastoral or student leadership position, such as Head of House, Head of Year or Year Coordinator, will be highly regarded.
