Maintenance Worker (Aspect South East Sydney School)
Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is one of Australia's largest autism‐specific service providers, with one of the biggest autism‐specific school programs in the world. A not‐for‐profit organisation, we work in partnership with people of all ages on the autism spectrum, and their families to deliver evidence‐informed, person‐centred, family‐focused and customer‐driven solutions.
Pay
A$66,****** per year
The rate is
$***** per hour
+ superannuation, depending on qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake repair/maintenance work to school buildings (e.g. replacing locks, windows & light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairs)
Perform routine maintenance of equipment
Estimate repair costs and document repairs undertaken
Handle, store, and distribute goods/materials
Move equipment/furniture as required
Upkeep school grounds (e.g. mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litter)
Assist with school improvement projects (e.g. fencing, paving, gardening)
Drive school vehicles as required for registration inspections, repairs and servicing
About the School
Aspect South East Sydney School provides placement for approximately 180 students on the autism spectrum from ages 4 to 18 years. The school's main sites are at Peakhurst, Marrickville & Loftus, with 9 satellite classes across the South East Sydney region.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in general maintenance of grounds/buildings
Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general trade maintenance
Understanding of machinery/equipment operation relating to building maintenance
Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team




Excellent communication skills
Trade background desirable
Own tools required
Current driver's licence and use of own vehicle
Current NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment
May be required to provide an International Police Check clearance

This position is covered by the Independent Schools NSW (Professional and Operational Staff) Cooperative Multi‐Enterprise Agreement ****.
