About the Opportunity
n
Service Stream's Utilities division is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Brisbane team on a permanent, full-time basis.
n
This is an exciting opportunity to work across critical water and wastewater infrastructure that supports local communities every day. You'll be part of a skilled and collaborative team responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving essential assets that keep vital services operating safely and efficiently.
n
No two days are the same.



You'll undertake a diverse range of work including preventative maintenance, breakdown response, equipment installation, commissioning activities, and minor project works across treatment plants and network infrastructure.
n

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Perform preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance on water and wastewater treatment assets
n
Troubleshoot and fault‐find mechanical equipment and systems
n
Carry out repairs, installations, commissioning, and decommissioning activities
n
Support the delivery of minor capital and improvement projects
n
Collaborate with engineers, operators, and maintenance teams to maximise asset reliability
n
Assist with work planning, scoping, and estimating activities
n
Mentor apprentices and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
n
Build strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
n
Promote a positive safety culture and ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
n
n




Trade qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline
n
Current unrestricted Driver's Licence
n
Experience within the water industry or a similar industrial environment
n
Strong fault‐finding and maintenance experience across mechanical plant and equipment
n
A proactive attitude and commitment to safety
n
Willingness to undertake further training and development opportunities
n
n
Highly regarded:

Experience working on wastewater treatment plants and associated equipment
n
High Risk Work Licence
n
