Management Accountant
to join our team.
Requirements
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Management Accountant
to join our dynamic Finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of accounting principles, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in relevant accounting software.
Responsibilities
Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts
Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary to management
Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Manage fixed assets register and depreciation
Reconcile general ledger accounts
Assist with year-end preparations
Payroll Management
Oversee end-to-end payroll for all employees/contractors accurately and on time
Ensure compliance with relevant industrial awards, agreements, and legislation
Administer superannuation contributions and ensure compliance with Superannuation Guarantee (SG) obligations
Prepare and lodge PAYG withholding tax
Issue Payslips and annual Payment Summaries (now Income Statements via STP)
Resolve payroll-related queries from employees
Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records
BAS (Business Activity Statement)
Compliance
Prepare and lodge monthly/quarterly BAS
Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of GST, PAYG Withholding, FBT instalments, and other relevant taxes
Reconcile GST accounts
Stay up-to-date with changes in Australian tax legislation relevant to BAS
Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office as required
Other Responsibilities
Assist with ad-hoc financial projects as required
Continuously identify and implement process improvements
Maintain solid internal controls and financial integrity
Professional Skills And Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA/CA qualification (or working towards) highly regarded
Proven experience as a Management Accountant with significant payroll and BAS responsibilities
In-depth knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax legislation
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and advanced Excel skills
