ABOUT THE ROLE
Join our team delivering the Heathcote Road Overtaking Lane Project, a major Transport for NSW infrastructure upgrade between the Woronora River and Lucas Heights. We are seeking experienced Leading Hands with a strong background in civil construction, particularly earthworks and pavements, to help deliver this high-profile project.
Reporting to the Supervisor, you will lead self-performing crews and coordinate subcontractors to safely deliver earthworks, pavement and drainage works across multiple work fronts. This is a hands-on leadership position where you will work alongside your team while maintaining productivity, quality and safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lead and supervise civil construction crews on site.
Coordinate self-performing teams and subcontractors across multiple work fronts.
Deliver earthworks, pavement and associated civil works to program.
Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with project specifications.
Liaise with Supervisors, Engineers and Project Management.
Maintain high standards of quality, environmental compliance and housekeeping.
Assist with planning daily activities and allocating resources.
Promote a positive safety culture and mentor team members.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
2–5 years' experience as a Civil Leading Hand.
Demonstrated experience delivering earthworks and pavement construction projects.
Experience supervising crews in a live civil construction environment.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to interpret construction drawings and work to specifications.
A proactive approach to safety and quality.
Construction White Card
Current driver's licence
Current Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
Full Australian working rights
Ability to work night shifts and weekends as required
