Job Description

18-month fixed-term contract based at Sydney Airport
The Opportunity
As the Sydney Airport Operations Manager, you will lead the airport operations team, ensuring all disruptions are managed effectively through deployment and engagement of staff.
Your core responsibilities include:
Managing Domestic and International Airport Operations to improve efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction
Planning and implementing projects for operational and strategic improvements
Making decisions on operational improvements and risk management
Ensuring effective communication of critical information to stakeholders
Achieving KPIs related to safety, on-time performance, customer satisfaction, and financial targets
Overseeing supplier operations and acting as a secondary escalation point for problem resolution
Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders




Developing and managing team performance
Promoting awareness of OH&S;, aviation safety, and security policies
This role involves negotiating with stakeholder groups, coaching teams, and managing key areas such as supplier management, turnaround performance, compliance, delay handling, and customer service recovery.
Effective communication of relevant information internally and externally is essential.
Key Skills and Experience
Leadership experience in airport operations
Front-line team management exposure
Customer, commercial, and financial acumen
Strategic thinking and planning skills
Experience in operational efficiencies
Strong consultation and communication skills
Team performance management experience
Minimum 5 years in airport operations or related environment
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (preferred)
Ability to handle difficult messages, conflicts, and enforce policies fairly
