The Opportunity
Due to continued growth in the Mining & Industrial sector, BP/Castrol are seeking a self‐motivated, creative Lubricants Field Technical Specialist for the mining sector of our business.
This field‐based role will travel regularly to customer sites, working closely with the Regional Sales Manager – Mining & Industrial on the East Coast.
Key responsibilities include carrying out field service inspections, delivering lubricant continuous improvement projects, recommending lubricants, and supporting reliability and maintenance teams to drive improved maintenance outcomes.
Responsibilities
Regular visitation of customers' mine sites in the Hunter Valley Region and Central & Western NSW Mining Regions
Inspection and reporting on lubricant performance in critical equipment such as Draglines, Hydraulic Excavators, Electric Rope Shovels, Ball Mills and other mobile and fixed plant equipment
Providing continuous improvement value delivery projects aligned to customer maintenance strategies
Supporting lubricant recommendation and management of change in product range within customer sites
Carrying out audit inspections of lubricant storage and handling facilities and providing AS****‐level reporting (training provided)
Supporting the sales team in the sales process to drive additional sales and range extension in customer sites
Delivering contracted cost reductions through identification and execution of value improvement projects for key account and non‐key account customers
Providing lubricant technical advice supporting current and future technical direction for nominated mining customers
Managing product quality complaints and resolution responsibility in field performance
Acting as the single point of contact for technical requirements for selected key account mine sites
About You
More than 3 years experience in any of the following fields – Field Service of mobile or fixed plant equipment in a mining environment, Lubricants technical support, Reliability engineering or Mechanical engineering in a heavy‐duty sector
Lubricants and technical product knowledge of mining equipment highly advantageous
Proven attributes aligned with Castrol's values and behaviours
Experience dealing with multiple stakeholders both within and outside the organization
Experience working with large and sophisticated customers
Highest safety focus in an environment with significant risk
Track record and confidence in representing the company externally and dealing with senior management of large multi‐national customers
Ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical business plans related to lubricant usage in a mining environment
Hands‐on approach, driving business with direct responsibility at customer mine sites in regional QLD
Flexibility to respond to changing market environments and dynamic business situations
Pro‐active and enthusiastic attitude to all tasks
