Little Wave Scarborough is looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team.
Located on The Esplanade in Scarborough, Little Wave is a neighbourhood café and wine bar with a strong Mediterranean influence, inspired by the food, culture and hospitality of France and Italy.
We offer an all-day dining experience that moves from breakfast and coffee through to lunch, dinner and evening wine, with a focus on fresh produce, handmade pasta, seasonal ingredients and vibrant, flavour-driven dishes.
The Role
We are looking for a Chef who is confident working in a fast-paced kitchen and takes genuine pride in producing high-quality food consistently.
You will play an important role in maintaining our existing food standards while also contributing ideas and creativity to our evolving seasonal menu.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Mediterranean and European cuisine, excellent preparation and cooking skills, and the ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy service.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes across breakfast, lunch and dinner service
Maintain consistency, presentation and portion control across every plate
Work closely with the kitchen and management team on seasonal menus and specials
Demonstrate robust knowledge of fresh produce, pasta, seafood, meat and Mediterranean flavours
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation
Assist with ordering, stock control,



preparation and minimising food waste
Lead by example and contribute positively to a professional kitchen culture
Work efficiently during busy services while maintaining attention to detail
Support and mentor junior kitchen team members where required
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has proven experience as a Chef in a quality café, restaurant, wine bar or similar venue
Has strong knowledge of Mediterranean, Italian or European cuisine
Is confident with fresh pasta, seafood, meat and seasonal produce
Has excellent organisational and time-management skills
Takes pride in presentation, flavour and consistency
Is reliable, positive and works well as part of a team
Can remain calm and organised under pressure
Has a genuine passion for hospitality and valuable food
Is creative and enjoys contributing new ideas to the menu
