Thornleigh Vet Hospital is looking for a passionate, experienced and motivated Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a full time basis.

This is an exciting chance for a confident senior nurse who loves clinical nursing, enjoys supporting a team and wants to play an important role in the day-to-day running and continued growth of a busy veterinary hospital.

About the Role
n
As Head Veterinary Nurse, you'll be a key member of our leadership team, working closely with our veterinarians and nursing team to ensure our patients receive exceptional standards of care.
n
Your role will include:
n
n
Leading, mentoring and supporting our veterinary nursing team
n
Coordinating the day-to-day nursing operations of the hospital
n
Maintaining high standards of patient care, nursing protocols and workplace safety
n
Supporting nurses with clinical cases, anaesthesia, surgery and hospitalisation
n
Overseeing nursing workflows, rosters and delegation
n
Assisting with staff training, onboarding and ongoing professional development
n
Managing inventory, equipment and pharmacy requirements
n
Helping develop and implement clinical protocols and processes
n
Supporting a positive, collaborative and professional workplace culture
n
Working alongside the practice leadership team to continually improve the hospital
n

About You
n
We're looking for someone who is:
n
n




A Cert IV Vet Nurse with minimum 3 years vet nurse experience
n
Confident working in a busy hospital environment
n
Passionate about high-quality patient and client care
n
A natural leader who enjoys mentoring and developing others
n
Highly organised, proactive and able to prioritise effectively
n
Confident with anaesthesia, surgical nursing and hospitalised patients
n
A strong communicator who works well within a team
n
Calm and capable under pressure
n
Professional, reliable and genuinely committed to the veterinary industry
n
n
Previous leadership or senior nursing experience will be highly regarded.
