Our client operates a respite mental health service in Nelson, providing crisis support and short-term care to individuals in acute need. The organisation is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with Psychiatric or Mental Health nursing background to lead this multidisciplinary team in a permanent, full-time leadership role. Based in a central Nelson office, this Lead RN role offers a remuneration package of $105,812 plus complexity allowance, five weeks' annual leave (after 12 months), four paid wellbeing days annually, and a relocation package where applicable. The successful candidate will provide clinical oversight, lead staff development, and manage rostering and administrative duties across a small team, with one-in-thirteen-week on-call responsibilities supported by management backup and an on-call allowance.

Preferred Requirements

- Current NZ registration and APC as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing practice
- Proven ability to lead, coach,



and develop clinical staff in a team workplace
- Competence in rostering, administration duties, and clinical governance
- Sound clinical judgment and the capacity to provide safe, high-quality mental health care in a crisis respite setting

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing with current NZ RN registration and APC
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated specialist experience in Mental Health or Psychiatric nursing
- Leadership or management qualification, or evidence of successful team leadership in a clinical setting
