Payroll Manager – Sunshine Coast, QLD

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations on the Sunshine Coast. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll function across a high-volume, multi-site workforce.

You will oversee weekly payroll processing, ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements, and provide strong leadership to the payroll team. This role requires someone confident in managing complex payroll environments within construction, mining or labour hire sectors.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee end-to-end weekly payroll processing

- Lead, mentor and develop the payroll team

- Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements

- Oversee payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG and statutory reporting

- Perform payroll reconciliations and reporting (pre and post payroll)

- Maintain employee records, contracts, letters of offer and employment variations





- Drive payroll process improvements and system efficiencies

- Act as escalation point for payroll queries and compliance matters

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Officer

- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements

- Experience managing high-volume, blue-collar or labour hire payroll

- Leadership experience with the ability to build and support a team

- Robust attention to detail and analytical capability

- Advanced Excel skills and payroll systems experience

- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction or mining environment
