Minda aims to be a force for good in South Australia for people with an intellectual disability by providing advocacy, support and services that enable people with intellectual disability to live their best lives. With more than 2,000 skilled staff, including disability support workers, health professionals, administrators and volunteers Minda is the largest not-for-profit intellectual disability services provider in the state.

As Minda continues to expand individualised living options, elevate service excellence and deepen lifelong relationships, it is also strengthening its Board to support this next phase. Central to Minda’s governance is a commitment to ensuring the voice and lived experience of people with intellectual disability is embedded in Board decision-making and helps shape the organisation’s future.

Minda welcomes applications from people with lived experience of intellectual disability, as well as people with relevant professional, executive and governance expertise. Priority areas include:

- high level finance and contemporary audit skills and experience;

- contemporary risk governance;

- workforce strategy, safety and wellbeing;

- lived experience of intellectual disability;





- extensive experience in care governance and the delivery of support services in a community or non-institutional environment;

- experience in disability housing, property utilisation and municipal planning;

- governance oversight of technology and digital transformation within a large, complex organisation;

- governance experience within a large, complex and highly regulated entity;

- extensive experience setting and overseeing organisational strategy.

Candidates with intellectual disability are encouraged to apply, including those who may use appropriate supports to participate fully in the role.

The newly appointed Independent Chair of the Nominations Committee will work closely with Hender Consulting throughout the search and selection process. Appropriate professional fees will be offered to attract high integrity, values-aligned individuals who can contribute meaningfully to Minda’s strengthened Board.
