Senior Structural Materials Engineer

Due to continued growth, our Structures and Materials Technology team in Queensland has a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Materials Engineer.
This position offers a great variety of projects, and will see you involved in:
- Inspections and surveys of existing infrastructure, including condition/structural assessments, and Level 2 and 3 inspections of bridges, transport, marine, industrial, and other major infrastructure
- Undertaking and supervise site investigations using destructive and non-destructive testing methods.
- Diagnose structural and durability issues identified during inspections and develop practical remediation and asset management strategies.
- Provide technical expertise across projects and contribute to durability assessments, remediation designs, materials specifications and concrete mix design solutions.
- Contribute to business development by identifying project opportunities, building trusted client relationships and preparing proposals to secure new work.
- Manage and deliver projects within the Materials Technology discipline or for a multi-disciplinary team project delivery.
What you will bring to the team
- Bachelor’s degree qualifications in a structural or civil engineering field with more than 3 years of post-graduation and industry experience.
- Chartered Engineer/RPEQ or progressing towards completion (preferred but not mandatory).
- Knowledge of durability design and condition assessments.
- Proven experience and understanding of current materials technologies as they relate to infrastructure e.g., concrete, steelwork, timber.
- Demonstrated experience in asset integrity, inspection, diagnosis and remediation strategies of structures.
- Experience with Level 2 and 3 bridge inspection projects (preferred but not mandatory).
You will be a genuine career professional in the Materials Technology field and a dedicated communicator at all levels with a genuine willingness to help others, robust time management skills to meet deadlines, and the ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships. Your high attention to detail, as well as your ability to prioritise workload and work under limited supervision, will be critical to your success.
This role is a full-time position designed to fulfil a key role within the Materials Technology team to support the development of graduate engineers and the team's existing Technical Directors.
