Bring ideas to life. Create experiences that connect people. Help strengthen a sector working to end homelessness.
Homelessness NSW is looking for a creative, organised and proactive Marketing & Engagement Coordinator to join our Communications, Fundraising & Engagement team.
If you love variety, this role has plenty of it. You'll work across marketing, events, design, digital content and member engagement, helping us connect with members, deliver sector-leading events and bring campaigns and projects to life.
One day, you could be coordinating a conference or webinar; the next, creating social media content, designing a report, editing a video, or supporting a campaign to grow our membership and community. You’ll build broad experience, with plenty of chance to take ownership, contribute ideas and make an impact.
If you're a creative all-rounder who can make things look great and make things happen, we'd love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
Reporting to our Communications, Fundraising & Engagement Manager and working closely with our Communications Coordinator and internal teams, you’ll help bring our events, campaigns and projects to life, including:
Events & sector engagement
- Bring conferences, forums, webinars, Communities of Practice and other sector events to life.
- Coordinate everything from registrations, venues and suppliers to participant communications and event materials.
- Help promote events and create presentations, programs, signage and attendee resources.
Marketing & creative
- Coordinate digital campaigns across social media, email and our website to grow awareness, participation, membership and support.
- Create engaging content including graphics, video, presentations and promotional materials.
- Work with teams across Homelessness NSW to promote projects, campaigns and initiatives.
- Keep our brand and creative materials consistent, engaging and on point.
Membership growth & engagement
- Support campaigns and activities that attract, engage and retain Homelessness NSW members.
- Use events, marketing and sector activities to strengthen how we connect with our members and broader sector.
- Track marketing, event and engagement performance and identify opportunities to improve.
Coordination & systems
- Keep event, marketing and membership information up to date in our CRM and other systems.
- Coordinate shared creative assets, resources and templates.
- Provide project and administrative support across the Communications, Fundraising & Engagement team and pitch in where needed.
You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of Homelessness NSW’s first integrated Growth Strategy, helping us find new ways to grow our reach, deepen engagement and strengthen our membership and partnerships.
What you’ll bring
You combine creativity with strong organisational skills. You have a good eye for design, strong attention to detail and know how to keep multiple projects moving.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Experience coordinating in-person and online events
- Hands-on digital marketing experience
- Strong graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar
- Video editing and multimedia content creation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Confidence using websites, email marketing platforms, social media and CRM systems
- Strong project coordination skills and the ability to juggle competing deadlines
- A collaborative approach and ability to build great relationships in a primarily remote environment
- Experience in a not-for-profit, community, membership or peak body environment is a bonus.
You don’t need to tick every box to apply. We value transferable skills and recognise that knowledge and capability can come through professional experience, lived experience, community connections and different career pathways. If the role excites you and you think you could make a great contribution, we encourage you to apply.

Along the way, you’ll have the chance to broaden your experience and build connections with sector leaders, organisations, government and community partners across the state.
We offer:
- A 35-hour working week with the option to work your hours across a 9-day fortnight
- Flexible start and finish times
- Genuine hybrid working – three days from home and two days in our Woolloomooloo office
- Additional leave and flexible arrangements to support cultural obligations and wellbeing, including Sorry Business provisions, ceremonial leave and additional paid leave over the festive season
- 17.5% leave loading and access to NFP salary packaging of up to $15,900, increasing your take-home pay
