Language Disorder Australia is seeking a dedicated Facilities Officer who takes pride in maintaining clean, hygienic and welcoming environments.

As our Facilities Officer, you will play a practical role in the daily upkeep and presentation of college facilities and grounds, ensuring all environments remain safe, hygienic, functional and welcoming for students, staff and visitors.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As our Facilities Officer, you will:

- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across classrooms, offices, staff areas, toilets and shared facilities.

- Complete routine cleaning activities and inspections to ensure all facilities remain welcoming and well presented

- Maintain school grounds, lawns, gardens, pathways and outdoor learning spaces

- Perform routine grounds maintenance including mowing, edging, pruning, watering and rubbish removal

- Safely use and handle cleaning equipment, chemicals, tools and grounds maintenance equipment

- Assist with minor maintenance tasks and general site upkeep

- Support swimming pool maintenance, including basic water testing and checks

- Identify and report hazards, cleanliness issues, or maintenance needs

- Work in line with WHS requirements to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment

WHAT YOU WON’T DO:





- You won’t be expected to manage teaching or classroom activities; your focus is on grounds and facilities.

- You won’t work alone without support, our Facilities Manager and team will provide guidance and resources.

- You won’t be responsible for large-scale construction projects; this role focuses on maintenance and upkeep.

- You won’t compromise safety, our policies and procedures ensure you have the right tools and training.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

- Experience in facilities, cleaning, groundskeeping, maintenance or a similar role

- Proven ability to maintain clean, hygienic environments, particularly in schools or similar settings

- Practical skills in outdoor maintenance, minor repairs, and safe equipment operation

- Understanding of WHS requirements, including chemical safety

- A strong work ethic and pride in both cleanliness and presentation

- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach and ability to work independently

- A current Blue Card or willingness to obtain one

- C Class Driver’s Licence (mandatory)
