Global Mining & Tailings Projects | International Consultancy | Flexible & Collaborative Team An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Tailings Dam / Geotechnical Engineer to join the Brisbane office of globally recognised engineering consultancy
With a strong international reputation in mining, tailings management, dams, mine waste and geotechnical engineering, our client works on some of the world’s most technically challenging and complex mining infrastructure projects.
Their Australian operations are headquartered in Brisbane and continue to grow across major mining and resources projects throughout Australia and internationally.
This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded technical team working across the full lifecycle of tailings and mine waste projects — from concept studies and detailed design through to construction, operations, dam safety and closure planning.
The Opportunity You will work alongside leading technical specialists on a broad range of projects including:
- Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs)
- Water dams and mine water infrastructure
- Earthworks and embankment design
- Mine waste and containment facilities
- Dam safety reviews and risk assessments
- Geotechnical investigations and analysis
- Construction support and site inspections
- Closure and rehabilitation planning
Projects are diverse, technically challenging and often large-scale, with exposure to both Australian and international mining operations.

About You We are interested in speaking with engineers who have:
- Degree qualifications in Civil, Geotechnical or related Engineering
- Experience in tailings dams, mine waste, water dams or geotechnical engineering
- Exposure to mining or resource sector projects
- Experience across design, investigations, construction or operational support
- Strong technical and report writing skills
- Knowledge of dam safety and relevant Australian/international standards
- Consulting experience highly regarded
- Chartered status or progress toward CPEng viewed favourably
