Description

As a AI Governance Specialist, you'll play a critical role in shaping and embedding Australian Retirement Trust's enterprise-wide approach to responsible and compliant use of artificial intelligence.
You'll work with stakeholders across technology, data, legal and risk to strengthen AI governance practices, frameworks and controls that support the safe and effective use of AI across the organisation. From contributing to governance frameworks and review processes through to supporting model oversight and regulatory alignment, you'll help build confidence in AI-enabled decision making while fostering innovation.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence how AI is governed across a complex enterprise environment, supporting fairness, transparency, accountability and risk management throughout the AI lifecycle.
This role is a permanent chance and is based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
Responsibilities
Day to day, you'll:
- Contribute to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of AI governance frameworks, policies, standards and controls.
- Support governance across the full AI lifecycle, from problem definition and data sourcing through to deployment, monitoring and retirement.
- Assist with Federated AI Review (FAIR) processes, providing oversight and assurance for AI use cases across the organisation.
- Develop and maintain AI governance policies and operating models aligned to risk, privacy, data and technology frameworks.
- Partner with technology, data,
legal and risk teams to operationalise AI controls within MLOps environments.
- Promote enterprise standards relating to fairness, transparency, accountability and security across AI solutions.
- Coordinate independent validation activities and periodic reviews of material AI models.
- Prepare governance reporting and materials to provide visibility of AI risks, controls and performance to stakeholders and governance forums.
Qualifications
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them.
It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- You have experience in privacy, data protection, AI governance or a related discipline within data, analytics or AI-enabled environments.
- Your experience includes designing and operationalising governance controls across the data and AI lifecycle.
- You'll bring a sound understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to data, privacy and emerging AI governance.
- You're familiar with corporate risk management environments, including obligations, controls and risk frameworks.
- You can build strong relationships and influence outcomes across a broad range of stakeholders.
- Your ability to translate technical and regulatory requirements into practical governance solutions is highly developed.
- You'll have experience in governance, policy or framework development within a corporate environment.
- You're passionate about responsible AI and enabling innovation through effective governance practices.
