Are you passionate about responsible AI, governance, risk management and supporting innovation in a regulated environment? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced governance, risk, analytics or data professional to join our Consumer Insurance team as an Advisor, AI & Model Governance on a 6-month secondment. This role will play a key part in uplifting AI and Model Governance capability across Consumer Insurance, helping business teams identify, assess, register and govern AI use cases, agents and models in alignment with Suncorp's frameworks, customer obligations and regulatory expectations.

More specifically, you will:

As Advisor, AI & Model Governance, you'll partner with stakeholders across the business to embed practical governance practices throughout the AI and model lifecycle. This role is focused on capability uplift, implementation support, documentation and transition activities rather than ongoing governance ownership.

- Partnering with Consumer Insurance teams to embed AI and Model Governance requirements across ideation, design, development, approval and deployment activities.
- Providing practical advice and risk-based guidance on Suncorp's AI Safety Framework, Model Management Standard and governance processes.
- Supporting the identification, classification, assessment and registration of AI use cases, models and agents.
- Establishing governance reporting, including inventory status, risks, issues, remediation actions and emerging themes.
- Assisting with governance training,



communications and capability-building initiatives across Consumer Insurance.
- Monitoring emerging AI, model risk and regulatory developments and updating governance artefacts where required.
- Identifying opportunities to simplify governance processes and improve usability for stakeholders.
- Developing practical templates, guidance materials and handover documentation that support long-term sustainability.
- Promoting the responsible, secure and ethical use of AI through the application of Suncorp's Data Ethics Principles.

What You'll Bring We're looking for a collaborative and curious professional with experience in governance, risk, analytics, compliance or a related discipline.

You'll ideally have

- Experience in AI governance, model governance, risk management, compliance, analytics or related fields.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, automated decision-making, analytics models or data-driven decision frameworks.
- Experience interpreting and applying policies, standards and frameworks within regulated environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
- Experience supporting risk assessments, governance documentation, reporting, assurance activities or control implementation.
- Experience within financial services, insurance or other regulated industries will be highly regarded.





You will also demonstrate:

- Knowledge of AI Governance, Responsible AI principles and AI risk management concepts.
- Understanding of model governance and model risk management practices.
- Strong critical thinking, judgement and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to translate complex requirements into practical business guidance and actions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to achieving outcomes.

A qualification in Risk, Data, Analytics, Information Management, Technology, Business, Commerce or a related discipline will be highly regarded. Why Apply?
