Epsilon Direct Lending

Sydney

Company Description Epsilon Direct Lending is a founder-led Australian investment boutique established in 2019, focused exclusively on lending to performing middle market companies. The firm directly originates, structures, and manages private market loans, providing tailored financing solutions that support business growth. Epsilon offers institutional and wholesale investors access to hard-to-replicate, privately negotiated financings.

The business was created to capitalize on the demand for bespoke financing in a market where traditional banks face constraints, and to provide long-standing borrower clients with certainty and efficiency of funding.

Role Description The Associate / Associate Director will play a key role in originating, assessing, and executing private credit transactions for middle market borrowers. Day-to-day responsibilities include financial and credit analysis, due diligence, preparation of investment papers, and support for deal structuring and negotiation. The role also involves portfolio monitoring, ongoing borrower engagement, and preparation of reporting materials for investors and internal stakeholders.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Sydney NSW, requiring close collaboration with senior team members and active participation in a small,

entrepreneurial team environment.

Qualifications

- Strong financial analysis, credit assessment, and modeling skills, including proficiency with cash flow forecasting and capital structure analysis.
- Experience in corporate finance, leveraged finance, private credit, or related investment roles, with familiarity in deal structuring and documentation.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to prepare explicit investment memos and engage professionally with borrowers and investors.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
- Collaborative mindset and capacity to work in a small team, demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CA) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in Australian middle market lending or private markets, and familiarity with legal and regulatory considerations in lending, is beneficial.
