Our client has completed an Azure Architecture Review and now has a list of gaps, risks and recommendations sitting in a document. This role turns that document into a remediated, resilient, production-grade platform.

It's remediation work with a scale objective attached — you're not just closing findings, you're leaving behind an environment that holds up as the platform grows and that someone else can operate without you.

What you'll do

Remediate and scale the platform — Review, prioritise and address the Azure infrastructure gaps, risks and recommendations identified through the Architecture Review. Sequence the work by risk and dependency, not by whatever's easiest.

Close deficiencies across the estate — Networking, security, identity, monitoring, governance, backup, disaster recovery and operational management. Depth across all of it, not just the comfortable parts.

Align to framework — Bring the workplace into line with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, the Azure Well-Architected Framework, and the organisation's own standards where they apply.

Prove the resilience — Backup and DR that has actually been tested, not just configured. Documented RTO/RPO. Monitoring and alerting that surfaces problems before users report them.

Hand it over properly — Runbooks,



as-built documentation and operational handover so the client's team can run the environment after the engagement ends.

Requirements

Essential

Deep hands-on Azure infrastructure experience across networking, identity, security, governance and operations

Demonstrable remediation work — has taken a review or audit finding list and closed it out end to end

Azure networking: hub-spoke, VNet design, private endpoints, firewall, NSGs, ExpressRoute or VPN

Entra ID: RBAC, PIM, conditional access, identity governance

Azure governance: management groups, Azure Policy, landing zones, tagging and cost controls

Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity design — including having actually tested a failover

Infrastructure as Code: Bicep or Terraform

Working knowledge of Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework, applied rather than recited

Able to write up findings, sequence remediation by risk, and defend the priority order to stakeholders

Highly regarded

Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel

Azure Landing Zone deployment experience

AZ-305 (Solutions Architect Expert) or AZ-104

Regulated environment experience — financial services, government, health

Consulting background — comfortable operating inside someone else's estate and politics

Automation of operational management and remediation at scale
