We have an urgent requirement for a qualified Ballast Cleaner/Fitter Mechanical to work with our client in the workshop and an operational environment on RTIO Pilbara rail network.
The opportunities and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Operating, repairing and maintaining the Ballast Cleaner RM900 and Spoil wagon fleet of Track Machines. This includes
- Service and maintenance of Caterpillar and Deutch engines
- Pneumatic systems including train brake systems
- Conveyor belt building and installation
- Hydraulic fault finding and component change outs
- Wear liner change out and fabrication
- 415/240V and 24V diagnostics and statutory compliance
- PLC diagnostics and repair
- Working on Australia's largest privately-owned rail network
- Demonstrating your rail and track skills and experience
About you
- To be successfully considered for this role, we require:
- Strong safety values and culture
- Plasser track machinery experience.
- Mechanical background essential.
- Hydraulic experience preferable
- Rail maintenance experience, including a valuable knowledge of rail operations and practices.
- Current C Class driver’s license
- Drivers Licence HR, forklift, WWH experience – desirable
- Positive team culture and communication skills
- National qualifications (Rail Infrastructure) - desirable
This role is offered FIFO from Perth on an 8:6 roster, working 12-hour days on a rate of $80 - $85 per hour plus super with an immediate start. 6-month contract initially with potential to extend.
