The opportunity In this newly created role, you’ll lead North’s pursuit and bidding activities across our national business. Working closely with our Executive and Senior Leadership teams, you’ll help frame and position the opportunities we pursue, ensuring our bid effort is focused, well considered and aligned with North’s strategic priorities.

You’ll lead pursuits from early positioning through to submission, shaping win themes, client-focused differentiators and compelling, high-quality proposals. As a senior member of our national bid function, you’ll also support team capability, strengthen bid quality and consistency, and provide hands-on support across the business when required.

Your role will be split into three distinct streams:

Pursuit & Bid Leadership

- Work with Executive and Senior Leaders to translate North’s strategic priorities into focused pursuit and bidding activity, helping assess, frame and position the opportunities we pursue.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of priority and complex pursuits, establishing the bid approach, program, responsibilities, governance and review process.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary pursuit teams, bringing structure, challenge and a strong client lens throughout the bid process.
- Maintain visibility of the national bid pipeline, helping prioritise effort, anticipate resource requirements and manage competing bid demands.
- Lead reviews and approvals to ensure submissions are compliant,



compelling and delivered to a consistently high standard.

Positioning to Win

- Lead win-theme, positioning and proposition workshops, turning opportunity and client intelligence into a clear approach for the bid.
- Work with the business to identify and articulate client needs, pain points, differentiators, value propositions and proof points.
- Bring healthy challenge around why North, why our approach and why it matters to the client.
- Shape proposal storyboards and response structures that connect client requirements with agreed win themes and differentiators.
- Lead strategic writing, editing and review to create innovative, intuitive and engaging proposals that seamlessly bring together technical, commercial and operational content.

Team Leadership & National Bid Support

- Support the continued development of North’s national bidding capability, providing guidance and coaching to build the skills and confidence of the bid team.
- Partner with technical and operational contributors to strengthen client-focused writing and proposal development across the business.
- Drive consistent bid practices, quality standards, tools and ways of working while encouraging continuous improvement and innovation.
- Support effective management of bid resources, templates, reusable content, lessons learned and the bid library to improve the efficiency and quality of the national function.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced bid all-rounder – someone who can move comfortably between leading a complex pursuit, influencing senior stakeholders, developing compelling content, coaching the team and rolling up their sleeves to get a submission over the line.

You will

- Hold a qualification in Marketing, Business Administration or a related discipline, or bring equivalent industry experience.
- Bring strong bid and pursuit experience, ideally within construction,



infrastructure or consulting.
- Be an exceptional communicator and stakeholder manager, with the confidence to influence, challenge and engage effectively at all levels.
- A strong, adaptable team leader who leads from the front and knows when to lead, influence, challenge or support, while remaining open to different perspectives.
- Have strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to turn complex technical information into clear, concise and compelling content.
- Be highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced bid environment.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with proposal and design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- A collaborate and pragmatic bid all-rounder, equally comfortable leading major pursuits or rolling up your sleeves to support smaller bids and day-to-day requirements when needed.
