This is a great prospect for individuals who wish to contribute to the strategic direction and sustainable future of East Coast Tasmania's tourism sector. We welcome candidates with varying levels of governance experience, recognising the value of diverse voices from our vibrant East Coast community.

About the Board:

ECTT is governed by a highly dedicated, values-led Board of Directors with a deep connection to the region. As Volunteer Directors, they bring extensive knowledge and a strong commitment to supporting the unique cultural, economic, and environmental areas of the East Coast.

The Role of the Board is to:

- Provide industry expertise and understanding of specific East Coast tourism industry challenges, opportunities, strengths and weaknesses to enable the sustainable growth of tourism across the region
- Provide strategic direction to the Organisation and determine the Organisation’s strategies and objectives in conjunction with the CEO
- Oversee the Organisation’s strategic direction, ensuring it aligns with the best interests of both the Organisation and its stakeholders
- Continue to develop the Organisation’s purpose, values and strategies




- Oversee the appropriate culture for the Organisation and model behaviours that reflect the desired culture
- Provide support and guidance to the CEO
- Identify and monitor the management of corporate risks
- Ensure that the Organisation meets all internal and externally imposed compliance requirements
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
- Ensure internal processes and procedures establish effective controls and support Board reporting as needed
- Monitor and approve budgets
- Ensure effective Board succession planning by maintaining a diverse and capable group of Directors who can fulfill their responsibilities
- Attend Board meetings per annual schedule, ideally in-person but online attendance option is provided

Remuneration: ECTT Board positions are volunteer roles and are not remunerated.

About the Org:

ECTT is the regional tourism organisation for the East Coast of Tasmania, serving the municipalities of Glamorgan Spring Bay and Break O’Day. In partnership with State and Local Government, local Destination Action Plan Groups, and tourism-related businesses, our goal is to grow and support the East Coast tourism sector, delivering rewarding, sustainable, and lasting economic, environmental, and social outcomes.
